Overcome Your Exercise Obstacles

Font Size: Reset

Last but not least, I worked with a therapeutic touch practitioner to help shut down the pain gateways in my brain, sending the pain out the soles of my feet.

I continue to use mantras like "I am healthy, I am strong," and visualizing cobalt blue light (color of healing) around my body to strengthen my immune system. Changing your thoughts literally changes your body chemistry.

What would I say to anyone with limiting injuries or illness who wants or needs to work out? Listen to your doctor. If she/he orders no activity, then rest.

Pay attention to your body. Be kind to it. Slow progress is the best kind. If it hurts, stop. Pain is not gain. And finally, there's always something you can do, so do what you can, whether it's a chair exercise video, simple range of motion exercises in bed or just walking. Do what you can.
