Just two slices of Pizza Hut's Stuffed Crust Pepperoni Pizza will set you back 780 calories, 38 grams of fat and 2,400 milligrams of sodium. The standard (tiny) individual pizza has about 1,000 calories or more!
Even better are the frozen pizzas you make at home, either in the oven or in the microwave (I recommend oven-baked because it has a crispier crust and only takes a few minutes longer.). Check the calories on the box. Chances are they'll total about 600. Even if you eat the whole thing yourself, you're getting a reasonably healthy meal.
Let's forget weight loss for a minute and talk about pizza sauce. All of those tomatoes in the sauce are loaded with lycopene, an antioxidant that has been shown to reduce heart disease and prostate cancer.
